1. About us
Veldsmid ("we", "us", "our") is an online store based in South Africa, selling 3D-printed field gear for farming, hunting and fishing, and offering custom 3D-printing work. Contact us at orders@veldsmid.co.za, or Dian on 071 541 4176 and Samuel on 071 632 4652.
2. These terms
By using this site and placing an order you agree to these terms. We may update them from time to time — the version on the site when you order is the one that applies. The date above shows the current version.
3. Our products — made to order
Our products are 3D-printed to order in tough polymers. Because each item is printed individually, small variations in colour, surface finish, dimensions and tolerance are normal and are not defects. Product photos are illustrative. Maximum build size is 260 × 260 × 260 mm.
4. Orders & acceptance
- Orders are placed through the website; you'll receive an email confirmation with a reference.
- A confirmation acknowledges your order. We may decline or cancel an order (refunding anything already paid) where, for example, an item is out of stock, there is an obvious pricing or description error, or payment can't be verified.
- You're responsible for giving accurate order and delivery details.
5. Prices & payment
- Prices are in South African Rand (ZAR). We are not VAT-registered, so no VAT is charged.
- Prices and the flat courier fee are shown at checkout. Orders are processed once payment is received.
6. Custom work
- Custom jobs are quoted individually. Work begins once you approve the quote and we receive your 50% deposit; the balance is due before courier or dispatch.
- Custom and made-to-order items are non-refundable once printing has begun, except where the item is faulty (see section 8).
- You're responsible for the accuracy of the measurements, specifications and any files (e.g. STL) you provide. By submitting a design or file you confirm you own it or have the right to have it printed, and you indemnify us against any third-party intellectual-property claim arising from it.
- Maximum build size is 260 × 260 × 260 mm; larger parts may be split into sections by arrangement.
- Lead times are estimates and may vary with workload and complexity.
7. Delivery
- We courier nationwide within South Africa for the flat fee shown at checkout.
- Delivery timeframes are estimates, not guarantees; we're not liable for courier delays outside our control.
- Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery — please check your items on arrival.
- Correct delivery details are your responsibility; re-delivery due to an incorrect address may incur a further courier fee.
8. Cancellations, returns & refunds
- Catalogue orders: you may cancel within 24 hours of placing the order (through your account) for a full refund, provided it hasn't been dispatched.
- Cooling-off (ECTA): certain online purchases carry a 7-day cooling-off right. This does not apply to goods made to your specifications (custom / made-to-order), which are exempt.
- Faulty or defective goods: your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) apply. If an item is defective, not as described, or fails within a reasonable time through no fault of your own, contact us and we'll arrange a repair, replacement or refund as appropriate.
- We don't offer change-of-mind returns on made-to-order items.
- To report a fault, email orders@veldsmid.co.za with your order reference and photos.
9. Use of products & safety
- Our products are field and outdoor accessories, not safety-critical or certified components unless we expressly state otherwise. They are used at your own risk.
- Firearm-related accessories must be used lawfully and safely, in line with proper firearm and ammunition handling. You are responsible for ensuring any part is suitable and safe for your intended use.
- Don't use a product beyond its intended purpose or load.
10. Warranties & liability
- We warrant that goods will be of reasonable quality and match their description.
- To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from misuse, modification, normal wear, or use beyond a product's intended purpose. Nothing here limits any CPA rights that can't be excluded.
11. Intellectual property
- The Veldsmid name, logo, site content and our product designs are our property and may not be copied or used without permission.
- Files and designs you supply for custom work remain yours; you grant us the licence needed to produce your order.
12. Privacy
We handle personal information in line with POPIA. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and how we use it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.

1. Introduction
This policy explains how Veldsmid collects, uses and protects your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Veldsmid is the responsible party.
2. Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored securely as a hash, never in plain text).
- Order details: the items you order, your order history and amounts.
- Delivery details: delivery address and contact number.
- Custom-work details: the information and files you submit (description, measurements, photos, STL or other files).
- Technical data: basic information your browser sends so the site can function and stay secure.
We don't collect more than we need to run the store.
3. How we use it
- To process and deliver your orders and custom jobs.
- To contact you about your order — confirmations, status updates and quotes.
- To provide customer support and answer queries.
- To keep business records (for example, our admin order ledger).
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Who we share it with
- Couriers — to deliver your order (name, address, contact number).
- Our email provider (Resend) and hosting provider (Cloudflare) — to send order emails and run the site.
- Payment provider — to process your payment.
- Authorities — where the law requires it.
These parties process your information on our behalf and are expected to protect it.
5. Storage & security
- Your data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Passwords are hashed, and custom-work files are kept private — accessible only to Veldsmid staff.
- We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as the law requires.
6. Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to certain processing. Email orders@veldsmid.co.za and we'll help.
7. Cookies & browser storage
The site uses a secure session cookie to keep you signed in, and may store small preferences in your browser. These are needed for the site to work properly.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the date above shows the current version.
